Terms of Service
Last updated: August 12, 2026
The short version
Erasio removes the visible Google watermark from media you generated and own, entirely on your own device. It does not remove SynthID, so processed media still identifies as AI-generated. Use it on your own content, not on other people's work, and disclose AI-generated media wherever you are required to. Your files never reach our servers, so we claim no rights over them. This summary is for orientation only — the terms below are what actually applies.
1. Agreement to These Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Erasio — the website at erasio.io, the online watermark-removal tool, the Erasio Chrome extension, and the Erasio mobile application (together, the "Service"). By installing the extension, using the online tool, or creating an account, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you are using Erasio on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
2. What Erasio Is
Erasio is a local media-processing tool. It removes the visible watermark that Google composites into images and video generated by Gemini, Google AI Studio and Google Flow, by mathematically inverting the alpha-compositing operation that applied it. All processing runs on your own device, in your browser or in the extension — your media is never uploaded to our servers.
What the Service does not do
Erasio removes the visible mark only. It does not remove SynthID, the invisible provenance signal Google embeds across the pixel grid of generated media, which survives re-encoding and is unaffected by anything Erasio does. Media processed with Erasio remains identifiable as AI-generated to any tool that reads for SynthID. Erasio is also calibrated specifically to Google's watermark patterns and does not remove watermarks belonging to stock libraries, photographers, studios or other creators.
No guarantee of results
Google revises its watermarks from time to time. We update Erasio when patterns change, but we do not warrant that the Service will remove every watermark from every file, or that a given file will process successfully. Removal quality depends on receiving the original generated file — media that has been screenshotted, re-compressed or edited may not process cleanly.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, if higher) to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly permit accounts for children under 13.
4. Accounts
An account is optional — the extension and the online tool both work signed out. If you create one, you are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your credentials secure, and for all activity that occurs under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your authorisation. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, as described in Section 12.
5. Acceptable Use
Erasio exists so that media you generated yourself and hold the rights to is usable in the places you intend to publish it. You agree to use the Service only for that purpose, and specifically you agree to the following.
You may
Process images and video that you generated, that you own, or that you otherwise have the legal right to modify and use. Typical legitimate uses include client deliverables, advertising creative that platforms reject for carrying visible watermarks, product mockups, portfolio work, storyboards and previsualisation reels.
You may not
Use the Service to process media you do not have the right to modify or use; to remove attribution, credit or ownership marks from work created by another person or organisation; to misrepresent AI-generated media as human-created where disclosure is required by law, by platform policy, or by a contract you are bound by; to create or distribute deceptive, defamatory, harassing or unlawful content; or to impersonate any person or entity.
You also may not
Reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source of the Service beyond what applicable law permits; resell, sublicense or redistribute the Service or its calibration data; circumvent credit limits, rate limits or authentication; use automated means to access the Service at a scale that degrades it for others; or upload malware or content that attempts to compromise the Service or other users.
Your responsibility for what you publish
Removing a visible watermark does not change the ownership of the underlying content, does not grant you rights you did not already hold, and does not remove any obligation you may have to disclose that content is AI-generated. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of processed media complies with Google's terms for the service that generated it, with applicable copyright and publicity law, and with the policies of any platform you publish to.
6. Your Content
You retain all rights to the images and video you process. Because processing happens entirely on your device, we never receive, store, transmit or have access to your media — which means we can make a stronger commitment than most services can: we claim no licence over your content of any kind, because we never hold it. Files you process are yours alone, before and after.
7. Credits, Plans and Payment
The Service operates on a credit system. Guests receive a small daily allowance, registered accounts receive a larger one, and paid plans carry a balance that does not reset daily.
Payment and billing
Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details are entered into secure fields hosted by Stripe and go directly to Stripe under their own terms and privacy policy; we do not see or store your card number. Erasio is the seller of the subscription. Prices are shown at the point of purchase, and any tax that applies is shown or added at checkout depending on your location.
Subscriptions and renewal
Paid access is sold as a recurring subscription. Your card is charged at the start of each billing period and automatically again at the start of each following period, at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel. Each period grants the credit allowance stated for your plan; credits are for use within that period and do not roll over. You can cancel at any time from your account settings — see Section 8.
Legacy lifetime access
Some customers hold an older one-time lifetime plan bought before subscriptions were introduced. Those plans are honoured on their original terms: access for as long as we operate the Service, including future updates. That is not a guarantee the Service will exist indefinitely; see Section 12 on discontinuation. Lifetime plans are no longer sold.
Bonus and referral credits
Credits granted through promotions or the referral programme are a courtesy, hold no cash value, are not refundable or transferable, and may expire or be withdrawn where they were obtained through abuse of the programme.
8. Cancellation and Refunds
The free tier exists so you can evaluate Erasio fully before paying — every removal feature is available to try at no cost, on both the website and the extension. For that reason, payments are non-refundable: we do not refund subscription fees once a billing period has been charged, including for unused credits or for periods you did not use. You can cancel at any time from your account settings, which stops all future charges; cancelling ends your paid access and plan credits straight away, so cancel at the point you actually want access to stop rather than in advance. Credits granted as a bonus or through the referral programme hold no cash value and are never refundable. Nothing in this section limits the refund or cancellation rights you have under the consumer law that applies where you live — those rights stand alongside this policy, and where they conflict, they win. If you believe you were charged in error, or something went wrong with your payment, contact us and we will look into it.
9. Our Intellectual Property
The Service — including the removal engine, calibration data, interface, brand, name and logo — is owned by Erasio and protected by intellectual property law. These Terms grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service as intended. No other rights are granted, and nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any part of the Service to you.
10. Third-Party Services and Content
The Service interoperates with products we do not control, including Google Gemini, Google AI Studio and Google Flow, and relies on third parties including Stripe for payment processing, Google for optional sign-in, and a transactional email provider. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for their availability, behaviour or policies, and changes they make may affect how Erasio works. Erasio is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google LLC.
11. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will produce any particular result on any particular file.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Erasio will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or business opportunity, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or twenty-five US dollars, whichever is greater.
Your indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Erasio and its operators from any claim, demand, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, from media you process or publish, or from your breach of these Terms — in particular any claim that content you processed or distributed infringed a third party's rights.
Local law
Some jurisdictions do not permit the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain liabilities. Where that is the case, the exclusions and limitations above apply only to the extent permitted, and nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
12. Suspension, Termination and Discontinuation
You may stop using the Service at any time, and may delete your account from your account settings or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate access where you materially breach these Terms — in particular the Acceptable Use section — or where we are required to by law. We may also discontinue the Service or any part of it; if we discontinue it entirely and you hold an unexpired paid plan, we will provide reasonable notice and a pro-rated refund where it is fair to do so. Sections 6, 9, 11 and 13 survive termination.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service changes or as legal requirements evolve. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, publish a note in the Changelog. Changes take effect when posted, except where a longer notice period is required by law. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms; if you do not accept them, stop using the Service and, if you hold a paid plan affected by the change, contact us.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Erasio is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute — except that consumers may also bring proceedings in the courts of their own country of residence where local law gives them that right. Nothing in this section removes any mandatory consumer protection you have where you live.
15. General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Erasio regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force and the unenforceable provision is applied to the maximum extent permitted. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
