Video Watermark Removal Settings Guide
Everything the video sliders do — in plain English.
The video pipeline decodes your clip frame by frame, reverse-blends the Gemini/Omni sparkle out of each frame, then re-encodes — keeping your original audio untouched. These settings control how strong that correction is, how the patched edge blends back into the frame, and the quality of the re-encoded file. The defaults handle most clips; change one setting at a time and re-run a short clip to compare.

What each control does to your frames, when to reach for it, and the trade-off it makes against render time and file size.
Correction strength
How hard the watermark is subtracted from every frame.
Base strength
Default 1.000.5 – 2Overall intensity of the reverse-blend correction.
The master dial for how aggressively the watermark is subtracted. Raise it when a faint mark survives; lower it if removal leaves a dark or smudged patch. Adjust this before reaching for the finer opacity controls.

Auto-detected positions are re-centred as you enlarge, so the star pattern stays on the stamp. Push to 1.10–1.40× to eat fringe pixels the standard mask misses; too high softens surrounding video detail.

Opacity
Default Auto-pick (1.0 vs 0.62)How the watermark’s opacity is chosen per clip.
Auto lets the pipeline pick between the two calibrated opacities based on the match. Force a fixed value only when auto guesses wrong — use 1.0 for a crisp, solid stamp and 0.62 for a lighter one. “Custom” unlocks the slider below.

Caps the reverse-blend so near-opaque pixels do not blow out. Leave it at the default unless you notice bright artifacts on the strongest part of the watermark, then ease it down toward 0.95.

Hiding the seam where the patch meets the frame.
Edge diffusion
Default AutoWhether to feather the edge of the treated region.
Edge diffusion blends the patched area into the surrounding frame so the fix is invisible. Auto turns it on when it helps (high opacity + grey mask). Force it on for a visible seam, or off if diffusion is smearing nearby detail.

More passes produce a smoother diffusion at the cost of processing time. The default is tuned for quality without a noticeable slowdown; raise it only for a visibly rough seam.

Choose “New (2026)” for the redesigned Gemini/Omni sparkle and “Original” for older clips. The correct set has to match the on-screen mark or you will see leftover residue — this is the first thing to try when a video is not fully clean.

Default 1.0×0.5 – 3Quality of the re-encoded output video.
Multiplies the output bitrate. Above 1.0 preserves more detail (larger file); below 1.0 shrinks the file at some quality cost. Bump to 1.5–2.0× for high-motion clips where you see compression blocking.

If the before/after correlation (Pearson r) drops to this or below, the tool flags the clip as risky. It does not change the removal — it just tells you when to eyeball the output or retune.

Pin the watermark position across the clip
Detection finds the watermark for you — but when Google moves it off the usual bottom-right corner and the scan can't lock on, place the mask by hand from the settings preview.

Enter precise pixel coordinates for the mask's center, then fine-tune with the nudge arrows (tap once, or hold to repeat).
Reset to Auto
Hit Auto any time to clear your pin and hand detection back to the engine.
The pin is per-clip and isn't saved — Gemini places the watermark differently per resolution, so re-pin it for each new upload when auto-detect misses.

Tips & best practices
- Test on a short clip first — video re-encoding takes time, so iterate on 5–10 seconds before committing to the full file.
- Raise “Base strength” before reaching for the finer opacity controls — it’s the master dial.
- If the patch shows a visible box or seam, that’s an EDGE problem — force Edge diffusion on and raise Edge strength.
- For high-motion clips with blocky compression, raising Bitrate does more for perceived quality than any removal knob.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Pushing Base strength so high the watermark area turns into a dark or smudged patch.
- Forcing an opacity that fights the clip — let Auto pick unless you can see it guessing wrong.
- Maxing Bitrate on every clip — it bloats the file with no visible gain on low-motion footage.
